What a RUSH
Rush is a new initiative from Bible Society to work to raise the desire for the scriptures in young people that follow Jesus. It has 2 arms to it:
1 Live it - This is how we are working to find ways to revive the scriptures for young people. We will be producing some resources, tours, podcasts, vodcasts - you name it, over time we will work to provide great ways of beginning to consume the scriptures. This is more than a reading program - its letting the scriptures be the living word that changes and shapes us into the likeness of Jesus.
2 Give it - Along with this we are looking to raise a generation that will not let time run out on the needs for the scriptures all over the globe. Still half the worlds languages don't have one book of the bible translated into their language. Millions of people haven't heard the good news in the language of their hearts. This is aside from the need that exists where people cant afford the scriptures, or can't read and need it other formats.
Why Rush?
An adrenalin rush is a great moment - it keeps us going - it drives us. It is the moment when spirit and truth collide and we are changed - will you get the Rush?
It is also a challenge for us not to let the time we have run out and ensure others can know the Bible's life changing message here and abroad - This is the Rush Hour - its time to act.
Bible Society has been working for over 200 years to embed the scriptures into the lives of those who follow Jesus and to also embed the scriptures into the shaping of our culture - ensuring that we can work together with the church to build a Bible Society. A world of hope and love - a world that is being restored by the ultimate restorer.
