Long Queue
- Interesting thought... Whether you like it or not, you will spend days of your life waiting around in queues. These are queues of all types: standing waiting at the post office, being stuck on one of those annoying telephone waiting systems, being held up for hours in a ridiculously long line of congestion on a motorway, desperately willing away the hold-up as you queue up to get in to see your favourite band or football team, the list of queues is endless. You will spend days simply waiting to get to the front of queues.
- There is nothing you can do to get rid of all these queues. No matter how frustrating you may find them, or how angry you get, you cannot change the fact that you often stand around having to wait. Try to turn any frustration you may feel about this around so that the situation is different. This week choose to not get frustrated by queuing.
- Instead take these opportunities for good. E.g. when queuing in a shop, pray for the cashier that the Lord might bless them and move in their life. Ask that He might give them patience and an ability to cope with everyone's frustrations around them.
- Instead of getting worked up when being put on hold forever by a company on the telephone, put the phone on speaker and enjoy a few moments out in a very busy day. Take this time to pray instead of getting worked up.
- This week replace frustration at being made to wait around with a whole new approach of taking each moment for good. Take these opportunities for short moments of prayer that lift up those around you.
